The Wider World In-Person

If you are interested in what is happening in the world around us but feel you may not have the time to keep up on things, or the background to understand the context, HMPL's new monthly The Wider World program is just what you have been looking for.

Our Adult Program Coordinator, Diane Chido, invites you to share her love of global affairs in this seminar series. Participants will receive a short reading in advance to help prepare for each session of facilitated discussion on each topic.

The June topic will be "The Most Beautiful Word," a review of world events of the past 50 years and how they have affected basic economic indicators like stock markets. The article is available here or in hard copy at HMPL circulation desk.
